Redone in a modern black-and-white color palette, throw pillow reimagines a 1966 handwoven tapestry by California creative duo Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman. The silk/cotton blend on front makes for a delicate and visually compelling weave-a testament to the enduring legacy of the Ackermans’ artistic contributions to California modernism. pillows include a pillow insert in your choice of feather down or down alternative.
Detroit natives Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman founded ERA Industries in 1956. For 50 years, the Los Angeles-based couple played a central role in shaping the California midcentury modern movement. The Ackermans’ first woven tapestry was featured on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Home Magazine in 1957. Presented in collaboration with Ackerman Modern, the pieces in this collection recreate the couple’s iconic midcentury designs using original drawings and archival photographs.
